Honoring and Son-ship

Prov 15:33-16:1
The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.
NASB
Humility comes before honor spiritually. One is not able to show true honor towards another person unless they are first found to be humble.
Humility is an actual spiritual garment that the Lord puts upon us not just an attitude of the heart or a disposition of the soul. Humility is never to be confused with weakness, or meekness. Moses was the most humble man on the planet and he wrote that about himself.
When the Lord called me to pastor, I had an open vision during a church service, in the vision the Lord put upon me some pretty incredible armor, and placed a staff in my hand, then on top of this wonderful adornment, he wrapped me about with a drab, grey, almost burlap like garment. I knew it to be a “garment of humility”.
When we are clothed with humility, then I believe we are able to give honor and receive honor in a healthy way.
The topic of son-ship goes hand in hand with that of honor, for if the sons are to turn their hearts to the fathers, and the fathers to the sons, then there must be a humility on both sides that allows for the healthy exchange of honor.
The scripture gives us a promise:
Eph 6:2-3
Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

If we have been given radiant spiritual armor, an authoritative mantle, and gifts of the Spirit, and these are then clothed over with humility, then how do you suppose one may view you?
You may have an awareness of what the Lord has given to you, yet will others be able to see those things? Should they? Do you want them to?
What if all one sees when they look at you is drab, grey, and really something that doesn’t stand out as incredible? What if you are one who blends in to the crowd and doesn’t draw any particular attention?
What if on the other side of the coin we see someone with tremendous gifts and shining armor and we are attracted to the splendor of it all? Do we find it easier to honor someone who in our eyes is a spiritual hero?
Are we able to honor those around us regardless of these things?
I think that we indeed are called to honor one another with a heart full of love, to esteem others more highly than ourselves, to even be found “out doing” each other in honor.
Jesus said of the Father when one called Him “good teacher” “Why do you call me good? There is only one that is good.”
You see Jesus was honoring His father above himself and called him greater. On the other hand the Father declares of the son: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, listen to Him!”
The word also declares:
John 5:22-24
“For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23 in order that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

You see the Father has given “all judgment” to the Son. Even within the Godhead we see examples of this type of “outdoing one another in honor” The Father points us to the Son, The Son points us to the Father, the Spirit points us to Jesus. What a wonderful way to live!
One of the greatest privileges as a son is the privilege of inheritance, of being given a safe place of freedom, without fear of condemnation.
Think of a prisoner for a moment, can you imagine being locked up for life, or for years without end because of a mistake you made?
Can you imagine for a moment the real feelings of one that is trapped in a tiny cement cell with bars, and has no hope for anything else ever? What of the feeling being incarcerated with multitudes of others in the same predicament, with danger and hopelessness surrounding you constantly?
If you take a moment and let yourself go there, you will find that in that depth of hopelessness, one would just want to lay down on the floor of the cell and never eat, move, or breath again.
Just such a depression of soul can come upon the hopeless and imprisoned. (by the way that is the very reason the Lord tells us to visit the prisoners)
Why do I go there with this picture?
Because once you allow yourself to go there, you are then able to appreciate greatly your freedom, your freedom of movement, your ability to go where you want to, your ability to breathe fresh air, to enjoy the sunshine and the discovery of new things, the warmth of conversation with loved ones, the cultivation of new friendships, the deepening of old ones, the smell of rain, grass, fresh flowers etc. etc.
This sense of freedom in the soul is the very picture of inheritance as a son. Look around with fresh eyes and see that the sky is not even the limit.
From this place of son-ship then our serving is not that of a slave but of a free man who has freely been given all things, which then causes the heart to rejoice, and our lips to shout forth thank You!
The outworking of grace is an explosion from the inside of us, that screams out with joy, “Thank you for all that I have been given, and yet don’t deserve!” “Thank you that I am not a prisoner!”
This safe place of inheritance and freedom from our hopeless prison cell is what we have been given as sons, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Amen.

In this hour that we are living in it is no mistake that we are placed upon planet earth for such a time as this. God has put us here to carry out His Dominion Mandate: Genesis 1:27-28 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Matthew 28:18-19 And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth. Go make disciples of all nations.”
God is waiting for His Righteous Warriors to advance His Kingdom on earth. To accomplish this great destiny we must know our true identity in Him and from that eternal place be equipped for the task at hand.

The importance of this upcoming 13 week Class
I want to express to the members of Y.O.U.R. Church Without Walls the importance of the upcoming 13 week DVD class that we are doing on Wednesday nights, starting this Wednesday March 10. Jodi & I are really hoping that many of you that have not been a part of the Wednesday night services will decide to come out and be a part of this training and register online for the class.
Below is a dream that was submitted today and a response given by pastor Jodi.
I think that it reveals some spiritual hurdles and prayer strategies regarding this class.

DREAM:
I had a dream last night. It seemed personal, but there could have been some corperate stuff in there too. You decide:
In my dream I was back in school. The main teacher I had I was intimidated by. They seemed stern, serious, and like someone who did not accept excuses. Sometimes the teacher was man, and sometimes a woman. My attitude throughout the dream was that I could figure out what I missed in class later on my own time, but it turned out I needed the information in a moment, not later.
When I was in the teacher’s class I sat in the back, so it was harder to follow along because it was such a large class. I would try to listen and read, but wouldn’t understand. At one point I realized I couldn’t even describe what class I was in. There was an exercise where we changed our names by shifting alphabet letter order, but I missed by how many letters we shifted it because I was talking to my friend. I didn’t see it in our textbooks and my friend just kept repeating “D-15” or “M-15” like they were agitated with me. (Those were chapters in the book.) The teacher called “Person’s Name” which startled me and I confessed that I hadn’t completed the exercise yet. They didn’t get mad like I thought they would, but calmly moved on. It was supposed to be a fun thing to hear your name differently.
Then it appeared we were going on a snowboard trip, or touring a snowy place, and we were supposed to bring a ticket and a piece of paper we’d had in our text or gotten in class. I hadn’t heard this and had neither. When I told the teacher, who was collecting the tickets, they tore a duplicate they had and quickly stuffed in the box where tickets went so I could go with the class. I was surprised that they weren’t mad and let me go. I was grateful they were covering me. It seemed like the ticket they used wasn’t real like everybody else’s, but they were the one collecting the tickets anyways, so it was interesting they bothered to use one instead of just waving me on.
The train took us to a place to snowboard and we did. It was fun but brief. I thought more about snowboarding than actually doing it. I felt like some of the class was off doing something else I’d missed hearing. On the train ride back I noticed a very large, dark purple cloud in the sky. It looked like it could be a sea creature of some sort, smooth on the top, but the bottom always changing. When I first saw it, it was huge funnel cloud and I think there was lightening coming from inside of it. Then it changed. First cloud like, then like teeth on the bottom, then the teeth elongated into flagella, and the flagella would dissipate into rain, then back to rolling cloud. It was moving fast and changing shapes from round, to linear. It was fearsome because we didn’t know what to expect. It would move fast and when I thought it would cover us, which seemed unbearable, it would shift and move away. I’d think it would be long gone, and it would appear close in the sky again.
So I, and the two other people from work I was sitting by, began to pray. I didn’t know if the other two people were Christians, but they prayed like they knew something about God at some point in their lives. In my dream I wondered if it was a sign from God or a spiritual being. I wasn’t sure if it was good or bad. It was overwhelming and unfamiliar.

The school in the dream is the Wednesday night school that we are starting next week.
The trip taken is a trip to purity and you need the material from your instructors to be able to go there.
You are going to need to be coming from a place of purity to see, discern, and deal with the forces that will and are coming after the body of Christ.
Steve, correct me if I’m off on this. (she needs no correction)
This class that we are starting is different than anything we’ve done before. It is like learning a new language and allowing God to transform you. This is a tool that will be highly effective for each individual as well as the Body of Christ.
I hear a lot of warnings in your dream that you (our Church and the Church) needs to pay attention to.
This class the we are doing is part of C. Peter Wagner’s School, called Wagner Leadership Institute.
It’s part of their core curriculum.
The class is called Strategy and Protocol for Dominion SW816 by Jim Chosa
I’m looking forward to the class because I know it will take us to places that we have desired to be with understanding our authority and how God has commissioned us to co-labor with Him, but didn’t know how to get there from here.
Jim Chosa comes from a completely different paradigm as a Native American. As we are trying to unlearn all the western mindsets (Christianity Unshackled) that have inundated our belief system it’s good to see and know that God is bringing and breathing afresh on the tools to get us free and move forward.

I want to add a couple of things:
Seriousness: This is a no nonsense class for grownups, not a time to make excuses.
Attitude of making up what was missed: Not going to cut it, you need to be there or spiritually miss out.
Trying to listen and read, but wouldn’t understand: The need to press in and be attentive
Missed the “shift” because busy talking: This class will bring a spiritual shift it is not time to be distracted
The teacher calling by name, not prepared and moving on: Self explanitory
Ticket: You need a ticket to ride and it’s given out in the class, no free pass
Snow: Purity
Cloud: Spiritual Depth, warfare
